King Kanye Strikes Again
The “no holds bar” approach Kanye West takes in just about every interview he gives has been thrust upon us again in a new episode of VH1’s Storytellers. The channel does a good job of editing Kanye’s newest disses to those he feels are beneath him, censoring comments made against Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and the contradictory support he’s all of a sudden giving Chris Brown. What’s left to air on the show after taking out all that? Oh yeah, the actual music side of Mr. West.
GET FAMILIAR WITH SLIP-N-SLIDE/DEF JAM ARTIST, SHONIE
Nineteen-year-old Bronx via Miami songstress is set to make a major impact on the R&B scene. The Slip-N-Slide artist is currently signed to Def Jam, and her current single “Can’t Let Go” features a cameo by slick Brooklyn spitter, Fabolous.
In addition to her singing skills, which have drawn comparisons to a budding Mary J. Blige, she’s also a talented songwriter
Actually, she recently penned the hook for the current Plies hit “Want it Need it” featuring Ashanti. Her influences range from Beyoncé and Aaliyah to the legendary R&B star Betty Wright, proving that she’s planning to have true longevity and lasting influence once she unleashes her music to the masses.
Stay on the lookout for Shonie’s album, “Passionate … Pieces of Me” dropping this summer. But in the meantime, check out her MySpace, and get ready to start seeing a whole lot of her.

Another innocent “joke”?
In an attempt to share some humor, Los Alamitos, Ca mayor is catching heat after sending around an email with this image entitled “No Easter Egg Hunt This Year.” Just wondering when all these people who “never meant these comments offensively” are going to look at the bigger picture and keep their “funnies” under wraps.
His response? “Bottom line is, we laugh at things and I didn’t see this in the same light…I’m sorry. It wasn’t sent to offend …anyone from the standpoint of the African-American race. ”

THE SNEAKER/DRESS-SHOE HYBRID
This is part of the collection from Prada’s Fall/Winter 2009 Collection. We’re loving the sneaker tongue mixed with the dress-shoe look. This is casual and sartorial all mixed in one, and it’s a dope idea any way you look at it.

Oscars, Oscars, Oscars is all people have been talking about for the last month. And just like fashion week they where tiresome, exhausting, seemed to go on forever and am I glad there over.
There were few to no surprises maybe Departures beating Waltz with Bashir for Best Foreign Language Picture but that wasn’t really a surprise considering how the Academy feels about animation (I don’t care what the Academy says WALL * E deserved a best picture nod). Or maybe Sean Penn beating out Mickey Rourke, but a comeback can only take you so far and he started way back. So, no real big surprises there. Favorite moment Seth Rogen and James Franco stoner dissection of the best picture nominee nobody saw The Reader along with some more popular 2008 releases.
Of course, no matter how boring or overlong or how torturous the mandatory Beyoncé musical number is, we will be back to see it all again in 2010.

NEW VIDEO FROM KID CUDI (FORMER YRB RADAR)

So we called this one months ago -Ohio native Kid Cudi is signed to Kanye’s G.O.O.D. Music label, and he’s on his way to BIG things. Personally, we were feeling the video to the Crookers House mix a little better, but this new version is good too.
